Jones Board 001

Updated: Mar 21, 2019

Here's our 1st physical mood board flat lay with recent small finds in our personal collection, these are current inspirations for what we are excited about finding.

What would be on your board? Let us know, we love keeping up with what people are looking for so we can keep an eye out for them on the road.

  • Pennant/banners have always been a fun find to hang or frame in the home/cabin or decorate a party/or kids room. We all gravitate towards them as they remind us of a place with dear memories and experiences. Also visually they have great images and colors that paint a story of the area they originate.

  • Medical artifacts have always interested us, from the old teaching models we had in school to the lighting and sometimes gruesome instruments.

  • Old wall hanger musical instruments are perfect to add interest to a wall. Piano keys here mounted to a wall are great little hooks for keys.

  • Vintage photography with interesting subject matter, such as my all-time favorite' 3 Sisters with Guns' look great framed and in a group

  • Old Lettering is always popular, everybody loves the first letter of their name or family name

  • Shelf cameras have become so popular we look to the past when things were made well and looked incredible

  • Old boxes and wooden crates continue to be popular in the home; they hold our smalls and our records, our magazines, hold rolled blankets or become shelves. Easily repurposed and with great graphics these are a must in the home or cabin. Easily repurposed and with great graphics these are a must in the home or cabin.

  • We love old measuring instruments with advertisements, this one above had a hidden letter opener.

  • Random status and heads/busts are great shelf sitters[here we have a tiny white head on plinth picked up in Budapest. The heavy iron Horsehead is a bottle opener from Barcelona. Painted plaster, over wire football or soccer player, was picked up in Prague at a flea market, a personal favorite.

  • We really are into wooden primitive hanging spoons, Celtic in origin are given to loved ones and each symbol and section have different meanings. The story goes that young carvers were shy and unwilling to show their emotions, and this would attempt to convey their true feelings through the use of various symbols. Over the centuries, many more symbols and motifs have been added and as the love spoons became more elaborate and decorative, they have become collectables. Example include a bell [Weddings or Anniversaries or Together in Harmony], a lock [Security or, I shall look after you] and even a dragon [Protection or Symbol of Wales].
